Production of balls with a diameter of 200 mm for excavators
Präzisionskugeln Eltmann has received an order to produce several hundred balls with a diameter of 200 mm for excavators used in open-pit mining. For this application, reliability requires exacting requirements. For this reason, an optimized steel was used for this application and a specially developed hardening process was used. The adjustment of these large spheres required an adaptation of the existing systems, as well as the quality checks required at the end of the production. PKE was able to deliver all the spheres to the customer on time, meeting the quality standards and will be able to count on further orders.
