Innovative, safe processes with low environmental impact

We are NadCap-accredited for all processes and certified in accordance with the major international standards (AMS) and customers (Boeing, Collins, and many others).

We respect the environment. This philosophy is affirmed and demonstrated in our use of new processes with low environmental impact. UMBRAGROUP S.p.A. was one of the first Italian companies to implement an automatic system for the application of Zn-Ni as an alternative to cadmium, following the latest REACH regulation.

The Galvanic Process we use include:

  • Cadmium plating and stripping
  • Chrome plating and stripping
  • Copper plating and stripping
  • Zn-Ni plating and stripping
  • Black Oxide Coating
  • Chemical removal of the white layer after nitriding
  • Chromic acid anodizing on aluminum alloys
  • Sulfuric acid anodizing on aluminum and titanium alloys
  • Manganese and Zinc phosphate coatings
  • Stainless steel passivation
  • Nital etching
  • Acid etching on titanium alloys
  • Pre-plating Stress Relief and Post-plating hydrogen de-embrittlement 
  • Pre-plating cleaning by abrasive blasting with aluminum oxide or glass beads
  • Shot peening using machines with latest-generation automated CNC control
  • Automated CNC or traditional spray painting
  • Spray or ultrasonic alkaline degreasing
  • Pre-plating protective waxing
