Reliability under pressure
The experience gained in the use of innovative technologies applied to torque tubes gives us a competitive advantage in the production of joints. These components are installed on the drive shafts of the aircraft control surfaces and must allow for axial compensation deriving from the deformation of the structure or from thermal gradients. To ensure peak performance, UMBRA joints are made of steel and coated with surface protections.
The connection to transmission tubes (normally made of aluminum) can take place through rivets or special processes such as electromagnetic or EMF forming with the following advantages:
- High reliability;
- Weight reduction.
